Planning a Private Villa Holiday in Paxos: What to Look For
Oct 21, 2026
A villa holiday in Greece offers something a hotel cannot: space, privacy and the freedom to live on your own schedule. On Paxos, where the landscape is the main attraction, choosing the right villa shapes the entire experience. Here is what to look for when planning a private villa stay on the island — and what you will find at Amfialos.
Location: close to Gaios, but above it all
The ideal villa on Paxos balances seclusion with convenience. Being within walking distance of Gaios means restaurants, shops and boat rentals are close by, without needing a car for every outing. Being on the hillside means quiet nights, cooler breezes and views over the harbour. Amfialos sits high above Gaios Bay, overlooking the yachts below and the islets of Agios Nikolaos and Panagia, yet only a short walk from the village.
Outdoor living
On Paxos, most of the day is spent outdoors, so the terraces matter as much as the interiors. At Amfialos, life centres on a heated 18.5 × 4 m pool with a jacuzzi, surrounded by outdoor lounge areas. An outdoor kitchen and barbecue area and a shaded pergola with dining for ten make long, relaxed lunches and dinners under the stars easy.
Comfortable bedrooms for families and groups
When travelling with family or friends, it helps when every bedroom feels like its own retreat. The villa offers a master bedroom with a 200 × 200 cm bed, jacuzzi, ensuite bathroom and terrace view; a ground-floor bedroom with direct pool access; and a basement bedroom with a private bathroom and access to the lounge. Every bedroom has a smart TV and spacious wardrobes.
Wellness and activities on site
A private villa should let you rest and recharge without leaving home. Amfialos includes a gym with a treadmill, a massage room, a sauna and a jacuzzi, along with table tennis. For exploring further afield, six e-bikes are available for rides through the olive groves, and paddleboards (SUPs) are ready for calm mornings on the water.
The practical details
Small details make a big difference on a longer stay. Amfialos is equipped with a smart home system, Starlink Wi-Fi and a sound system, premium linens and towels, and a laundry room — everything needed to feel at home from the first day.
Design that lets the landscape lead
Built in stone and glass and framed by centuries-old olive trees, the villa was designed to open towards the horizon. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring the Ionian light inside, and every main space frames a view of the sea. You can read more about the story behind the house on our About page.
Plan your stay
The best months for a villa holiday on Paxos are May to October, with June and September offering an ideal balance of warm water and quieter days. Browse the gallery to see every space, and check availability to book your dates directly.
